Get on your bike. Dance until 6am. Chase a dog around the park. Find a way of doing some form of sustained exercise for more than 25 minutes and you'll find that your mood will improve and you'll be better at getting rid of bad moods and niggling anxiety.

"After just 25 minutes, your mood improves, you are less stressed, you have more energy – and you'll be motivated to exercise again tomorrow. A bad mood is the reason to exercise", says Prof Smits in Dallas.

Remember, before you head off on your bike to put enough fuel and water into your body to get you through the exercise.

Video is 'Rave On' sung by M. Ward, animated by Mikey Please.

Let yourself go.

You might not be a good singer or a good dancer but put on your favourite song, sing your heart out and throw yourself around your room.

The rush you’ll feel will fill you with energy and confidence.

Boring image

We all have to do boring things – cleaning, washing up, visting your annoying cousins - they're part of everyday life and we all like to moan about them.

But what about the day when you physically cannot do those things anymore? Some people would love to do the things you find dull but can't.

Suddenly these boring tasks might just become that little bit more enjoyable.
